It was a most decadent and extravagant way to celebrate Christmas and New Years -cruising the blue waters of the Caribbean on a small luxury sailing ship; sipping wine before brilliant orange sunsets caressed by warm tropical breezes; swimming in luke warm waters among delicate coral reefs; eating extravagant 6 course meals served by impeccably trained European waiters. It does not get much better than that. I have lived and worked in the Caribbean and while the destinations are always fascinating, the real adventure of the Sea Cloud II voyage was the ship, the sea and the service. Of course there are the beautiful coves and beaches everywhere, which were particularly popular with my then 5-year old grandson, Castor, and his mother, Lyda Puleston who joined me on this holiday at sea. |
